Make Your Site Better By Using Other Sites
Many people want to know how they can make changes to their website or blog to:
- Increase Traffic
- Grow Their Reputation
- Increase Sales
There are indeed some crucial things that can be changed about your own site to increase its effectiveness, however, do not neglect the rest of the Internet. Just as we leave our offices to go to meet prospective clients and contacts so we must also leave our own websites and publish content around the Internet.
Publishing content elsewhere on the Internet can grow your sites’ effectiveness when both people and search engines read your articles. People may like what you write and follow the link to your site, and search engines will see multiple links into your site as a sign that your site is worth reading.
Research popular keywords that lead people to your site and pepper them naturally throughout your writing. Do not go crazy on the keywords – just make it natural.
Ways to direct traffic to your site:
Beginner:
- Publish (relevant) articles on high ranking article directory sites and always link back to your own site. One example of such a site is http://www.EzineArticles.com
- Comment on blogs and news stories and sign your comment with a link back to your own site (Click here to read our answer on how to code your own html signature)
- Answer questions on Linked In
Advanced
- Create a Squidoo page (they call it a hub) with an important article or series of articles on a related topic (http://www.Squidoo.com)
- Start a website that is a vital source of information on your topic or specialty to establish yourself as an expert. Note: this must be done well to be effective. For example, if you sold monkey harnesses you could create a site with current information about the care and feeding of pet monkeys with a link to your store as a small part of the site.
